As of Saturday I have entered into the third Trimester! I can’t believe that there’s only 3 more months until Emiliana is here! It feels like I blinked and here I am at 27 weeks pregnant and before I know it I’ll blink again and I’ll be meeting my baby! There’s so much to do and so little time.
These second three months have been so much easier and better than the first three. I finally started to “show” around week 25. Up until then, I was looking like I had just ate lunch. So that was fun, I’m still not in full bump mode, but I finally started to feel pregnant. Another very exciting milestone is I started feeling Emiliana move, which I got to say, I feel a little lied to about that. Several people, even my doctor and told me that it would feel like butterflies in my stomach. It most certainly did not feel like that for me.
The first movement I felt was very strong and felt like someone ran their finger across my stomach but on the inside if that makes any sense? But her movements after that first one have felt like gas bubbles, I don’t really have a better way to describe it. It might just be the realist in me, but I can’t say I agree with the “butterflies in my stomach” description, even if it is a much cuter way of describing it. Now that I have gotten used to recognizing her movements, I would say that it feels like someone is tapping me on the inside.
One thing I have discovered is that Emiliana does not like it when I lay down on my left side because she will start to move and won’t stop until I turn to my right side. So sleeping has been fun since I personally like to sleep on my left side, but she makes it nearly impossible until I give in and turn the other way!
I still haven’t had any real cravings to this point, but I won’t ever say no cheesy fries! I love fruit and my favorite thing for several weeks was apple slices and peanut butter. Outside of those two things there hasn’t been a huge difference in what I’ve been eating. Of course always making sure I eat healthy and getting the nutrients me and baby need.
A couple downsides, if I sit for too long my feet start getting swollen, luckily all I have to do is get up and walk a little and it’s all better. Learned about this one when we went to see the Avengers: End Game movie (by the way, great movie I absolutely loved it). I didn’t get up the whole movie because I couldn’t miss any of it and by the end of it walking to the car was not a fun experience. I also started feeling some lower back pain but if I lay down for a little while it goes away.
Overall I have loved being able to eat and not feel sick, and even more getting to feel my baby. One thing I know i need to be so much better at is taking bump pictures, I haven’t really taken any! It makes it just that much more real! 3 more months and this whole adventure will be over but then the real fun begins! I can’t wait!
